In recent Town Meetings, you may have noticed a recurring Article regarding the allocation of funding for the Needham Channel. This funding, once paid directly to us by cable companies, is now routed through the Town before being passed on to us – due to regulatory changes at the State level.
This change has prompted some to ask questions they may not have thought about before: What exactly is your local community media center, and how is it funded?
As we approach the October Special Town Meeting, where this article will be voted on once again, we wanted to take a moment to explain how we operate and how we are supported. We hope this video will help you understand more about us and the importance of community media.
