August 22, 2024
• The League of Women Voters of Needham and Dover-Sherborn held a candidate forum on August 21, 2024 for the Democrats vying to represent the 13th Norfolk District in the Massachusetts State House. It was a challenging task: Their basic positions look the same on the surface, they are all residents of the same town, and they all want to be your pick for the next state representative from Needham, Dover and Medfield. The League of Women Voters had about an hour to distinguish them from one another and let them make their best case for the primary vote coming up on September 3rd. Through a series of questions, and an opportunities to let them respond to each other, three of the four candidates spoke about housing, environmentalism and what they would do to help their district in the first year. Municipal producer Yuxiao Yuan was there, and files this recap of events.
