May 9, 2024 Dr. Thomas Eastman was a Needham schools teacher and the director of science. His dedication to the natural world inspired the creation of the Eastman Conservation Area. At a rededication ceremony on May 9, 2024, the community was reminded of the 50-year history of the conservation area and how Dr. Eastman’s legacy will not only live on in Needham, but through the many people he inspired through his love of nature.
