The Needham Human Rights Committee placed Wishing Trees in town to show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month.
What is a wishing tree? it is a collection point for words of advise, a way of expressing one’s hopes and dreams, and a visual representation of support as individual “leaves” gather on its branches. It can provide moments of reflection, inspiration and help build awareness for an individual, a group or a cause. Two young members of the Needham Human Rights Committee embraced the idea and used it to share the thoughts of our community during Pride Month.
