Needham High School juniors spoke with local and state leaders about their advocacy for change projects.
How do you affect positive change for something that you care about? For adults, the answer is not always clear, so imagine the frustration being felt by those who are not yet old enough to take part in the dialogue. The Needham Public Schools and the Needham League of Women Voters joined together to showcase the issues that mean a lot to high school juniors and empowered the young advocates through teaching them about the process of law-making in their towns, state and nation. The crowning event was a civics fair held at Town Hall, where students got a chance to speak out and have their voices heard.
