The Needham Diversity Initiative and the Needham Human Rights Committee co-sponsored a celebration of Race Amity Day on Sunday, June 12.
Just a week before the celebration of our newest federal holiday, Juneteenth, an event was held in Needham with the goal of celebrating the diversity of racial backgrounds and making connections across cultural lines. With food, music and activities, the event attracted people to the appropriately named Amity Path in Needham. News producer Ashley Morin was there, and shares the thoughts of the event’s organizers.
