New Study on Hip Fracture Recovery and Osteoporosis Awareness Month

The STEP-HI study is a trial looking for a way better way to heal after a fracture. Researchers are looking for female participants who have recently fractured their hips.
For senior citizens, breaking a hip can be a life-altering event. While the fractures and recovery stories are unique from person to person, it is a painful injury that has life-long implications. A new study is seeking to gather information on how senior citizens recover from a broken hip, and looks to see if a new product may help them heal.

May is Osteoporosis Awareness Month and we spoke with Dr. Douglas Kiel from the Marcus Institute for Aging Research about ways to maintain strong bones, how to determine if you have osteoporosis, and preventing future fractures.
