The Community Crisis Intervention Team (CCIT) was created to improve the way Needham responds to residents who experience mental health or substance use crises. Through a collaboration between multiple local agencies including the Police and Fire departments, Public Health department, Youth and Family Services and the Council on Aging, the team identifies at-risk Needham residents and confidentially addresses those with chronic needs.
This special program explains how the collaboration works and expands. It also takes a closer look at how Needham police officers are trained to respond to such urgent situations in a better way.
