It is a rough time for small business owners. The pandemic has restricted typical business practices, potential customers have pared down their shopping, and there is less money to be spent outside of the fundamentals. Add on to that the heightened tensions in this country and community centering around race and equity, and you’ll find everyone looking for a bit of clarity about what they can do, and how they can be better while working to survive. We spoke with marketing executive Gretchen Cook-Anderson and got her perspective on these issues, which are not as far apart as you might think, and got her advice on where Needham can head as a community.
