In the heat of plans coming together for the fall, we asked Dr. Daniel Gutekanst, Superintendent of the Needham Public Schools, to reflect on the school department’s reaction to the closure of the school buildings back in March. He gave us a thoughtful look back at what amounted to educational triage, and the incredible effort that teachers and administrators went through to deliver what they could to the students of Needham. While the result was undoubtedly flawed, Dr. Gutekanst sees a lot in those early days that the Needham Public Schools can be proud of.
